Satang Turtle Island 2 Days 1 Night
Day 1:
Pick up at 0830hrs, drive from Kuching for about 45 mins in the direction of Damai beach. Board a small boat and start your cruise to the mouth of the Santubong & Salak River. There is a chance to spot the elusive and rare schools of Irawaddy dolphins, which are quite common in this area. Head out to the South Chinese Sea for Satang Island. The island is part of the Talang / Satang National Park and there are turtle nests on the island.
Green Turtles and the rare Hawksbill Turtles lay their eggs here. You will get an idea of conservation work for these highly endangered sea creatures. Spend time on the island’s white sandy beach or go snorkeling. In the shallow waters off the island, enjoy the corals and the marine life. A packed lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Leisure around and dinner will be served. Free at leisure while waiting for the turtles coming up to the beach to lay eggs. No guaranteed as nature is unpredicted. Settle for the night and the guide will patrol the beach for the turtle…(L/D).
Day 2:
Breakfast will be served and free to stroll along the beach and if the opportunity is there, you can release the baby turtle to the sea…Retrace your journey in the mid-afternoon. En route, you will have a chance to spot some rare migratory birds at the Tukong Ara island. Return transfer to your hotel. (B/L)
Note:
Since you will be exposed to the hot tropical sun, we highly recommend that you bring along a cap, sun shades, sunblock, and insect repellent. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone this tour in case of rain or bad weather conditions. This tour is suspended during the monsoon season (from November to March) due to rough sea conditions.
